Program
Gallery Boisseree was founded in Cologne in the year 1838, and presently shows art of the 20th and 21st centuries on two exhibition levels, notably graphic art and paintings after 1950, as well as contemporary art. The gallery focuses on original graphic technique as well as works on paper, and binds art dealership (with pre-established names) with gallery activity in the contemporary art field.
Art after 1950
In the field of art after 1950, the gallery presents single-artist exhibitions, Ackermann, Braque, Chagall, Chillida, Clavé, Dahmen, Ernst, Estève, Francis, Hartung, Kalinowski, Marini, Matisse, Miró, Motherwell, Picasso, Poliakoff, Saura, Schumacher, Soulages, Tàpies, among others, and to name only a few of our most important artists.
Boisseree places very high value on the collectibility of single graphic works (please see: original print): the visitor, this way, will only find hand-signed, original graphic art in flawless condition, printed on clear edition. For each extensively catalogued graphic in the collection, the gallery assumes a full guarantee.
We buy 20th century original graphic art and paintings, providing that the work offered to us is of interest to the supplementation of our collection.
Contemporary art
Gallery Boisseree, for years, has concerned itself with pointing out the quality of contemporary art. By discovering and promoting new and unknown artists, among others, we judge the work by the level of engagement and its exhibition-worthiness. We also consistently print and release catalogues and participate in internationally-renowned art fairs (ART COLOGNE, among others). Artists such as Jürgen Brodwolf, Henning Kürschner, Wolfgang Troschke, Rolf Urban, Jan Voss and Franziskus Wendels belong to the roster of the gallery’s contemporary art program.

The space
Due to its central location in downtown Cologne and because of the nine, large display windows alone -also after opening hours- the gallery draws the visitor inside.
